Job description

The ASMPT internship program provides hands-on experience beyond the classroom with one of the leading semiconductor companies in the world. By participating in this program, you will not only explore exciting opportunities and enjoy a vibrant social life in a dynamic business environment but also gain valuable work experience that sets you apart from your peers.

 

You will assist our R&D professionals on various innovative technology projects. Additionally, you will have the chance to broaden your horizons by visiting our Innovation Centre and/or manufacturing plant and by designing your own innovative project. We are committed to supporting your development through training courses and assistance in completing your internship project. Our supervisors will be available to guide and support you throughout the process.

1. Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Design precision mechanical modules in the application of semiconductor equipment, including

    • Requirement analysis for customer

    • Idea generation and idea verification (using Force Analysis, Thermal Simulation Analysis, Vibration Simulation, Module Life Time Estimation, etc)

    • Solution selection

    • Material handling

    • Tooling design

  • Prepare 3D engineering design and model analysis

  • Involve in continuous design improvement activities such as Design for Manufacturing Equipment

Requirements:

  • Currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant disciplines

  • Knowledge in Solid Edge / SolidWorks / Pro-E / AutoCAD is preferred

  • Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing process will be an advantage

2. Process Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Define process flow, requirements and specifications and verify through Design of Experiment (DoE) to optimize current machinery performance

  • Involve in the conceptual process design of new product and the enhancement of existing products’ process design

  • Support on-site process optimization and/or trouble-shooting through engineering evaluation to meet customer requirements

  • Debug the machinery functions to ensure meeting customer requirements and conduct process analysis to study the parameter test results from DoE for process optimization

  • Support internal machinery optimization before buy-off

  • Test the samples provided by customers for bonding

Requirements:

  • Currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Physics / Mathematics / Mechanical Engineering / Materials science / Chemistry or relevant disciplines

  • Good understanding of DoE, FMECA, statistics and instrumentation will be an advantage

  • Strong in analytical methods, detail-oriented

Internship Period: June 2025 – May 2026 (one year’s full-time employment, five-day work week)

Upon completion of one year’s contract, you will receive a contract bonus equivalent to one month’s basic salary.
