AI Analyst / Senior AI Analyst Production Systems, SCM

  • On-site
    • Hong Kong, Hong Kong
  • Manufacturing

Job description

ASMPT is a global leader in high-precision equipment for semiconductor and electronics assembly, and the way we run our operations is becoming data-driven and AI-enabled. We are looking for an AI Analyst who can turn our manufacturing, supply chain, and operational data into decisions that improve lead time, assembly yield and quality, delivery performance, and cost. Reporting into the Production Systems team and supporting its operational excellence and digital transformation agenda, you will work hands-on with business stakeholders, process owners, IT, and data engineers to build the models, analytics, and intelligent automation that leadership relies on. This is a hands-on, build-and-ship role for someone who turns ideas into working solutions that operations teams actually use. It is not a pure research post, nor a data-engineering or IT-infrastructure role, though you will partner closely with those teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • AI & Machine Learning Solutions: Design and deploy machine learning and Generative AI solutions that solve concrete business problems, from predictive and prescriptive models that guide operational decisions to AI assistants and agentic workflows that take manual work off people’s hands. Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and bring the ones that create real value into production.

  • Equipment & Manufacturing Intelligence: Apply analytics and AI to production data to anticipate production needs and delivery risks before they materialize, lift first pass yield and assembly quality, and shorten the path from a quality excursion to its root cause. Support smart-factory (Industry 4.0) initiatives that make our own high-precision equipment and our customers’ lines run better.

  • Intelligent Automation & Digitalization: Automate the manual workflows and repetitive reporting that slows teams down and drives digitalization across business and operations functions, so processes run faster, cleaner, and at scale.

  • Partnership & Influence: Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, HR, and IT to understand the real problem behind each request, then translate it into a solution that gets used. Present findings and recommendations to management in plain language and align your work with the operational excellence and KPI priorities the Production Systems team is accountable for.

Job requirements

  • A master’s degree from a reputable university in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field is mandatory.

  • 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, AI or machine learning, business intelligence, or digital transformation, with a track record of solutions you personally built and put into real use, not only studied or piloted.

  • Knowledge of SQL and Python, or equivalent tools, Power BI or a comparable BI platform, data modelling, statistical analysis, especially where these skills support scalable AI and analytics solutions rather than standalone reporting work.

  • Able to turn an ambiguous business question into a data solution, healthily sceptical about data quality, and comfortable shipping a working first version and improving it, rather than waiting for perfect.

  • Communicates clearly with non-technical stakeholders and senior management, documents and validates what is built, manages stakeholders across a matrix organization, and keeps learning new AI tools and methods as the field moves.

  • Practical experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models, AI copilots, prompt engineering, or agent-based workflow automation, and the judgement to know when these add value and when they do not.

  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, capital-equipment, industrial automation, smart-factory, or enterprise digitalization environments is a strong advantage, including exposure to equipment, manufacturing, or supply chain data.

How Success Is Measured

  • Within 3 months: you understand the key data sources and business priorities, have completed an assessment of high-value AI and analytics opportunities, and have developed a roadmap or proof-of-concept proposal for at least one selected use case.

  • Within 6 to 12 months: two or three AI or analytics solutions are running in production and trusted by operations teams, with improvements you can point to in uptime, yield, quality, delivery, or cost.

  • Ongoing: a growing, reusable library of data products and models, and stakeholders who come to you early because your work changes their decisions.

This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced semiconductor and electronics manufacturing technologies, influence next-generation module designs, and contribute as a key technical leader within a global R&D organization
